START HERE
Print learner pages 1-2, retain educator pages 3-4. US Letter; Fit for A4.
Ages 12+; about 30-40 minutes and a calculator. Multiplication/division and
unit ratios required; logarithms, spreadsheets and Python are optional.
No account, submitted answers or student information required.
The paper activity works without a browser. Three live presets are Cell scale,
Mitochondrion scale and Atom scale. Return to Cell scale before editing the
cell input to 40um for case D. Reset restores original chosen dimensions.

RUN OFFLINE
Extract the full folder. Python 3.9+ needs only its standard library:
  python3 verify_analysis.py --data-dir .
Windows:
  py -3 verify_analysis.py --data-dir .
Compare JSON with worked-result.json. The checker validates seven pinned
reference rows and twelve generated object rows across four cases. It checks
lengths in meters/inches, ratios, field widths, drawing widths and states.
No network request or input modification. Reproducing a recipe does not
confirm a real biological specimen, particle count or instrument model.

FILES
reference-inputs.csv: exact SI prefixes/inch conversion, plus adopted cell,
mitochondrion and atomic-reference lengths with explicit input status.
The source URLs for the adopted lengths provide scale context; the selected
20/2/0.1 values are not specimen measurements transcribed from these sources.
generated-scale-cases.csv: four cases times three objects = twelve GENERATED
rows. Each records the adopted dimensions, field width, log10 exponent,
object length, inch equivalent, drawn width and width-based display state.
worked-result.json: independent Python calculations and input hashes.
verify_analysis.py: Python standard-library checker.
scale-lab-model.js and black-holes-guide-model.js: unchanged original model
and required helper. package.json declares ES modules for optional Node
inspection. Python does not need Node or those JS sources.

RECIPE / UNITS
1 micrometer (um) = 1e-6 meters; 1 nanometer (nm) = 1e-9 meters;
1 picometer (pm) = 1e-12 meters. One international inch = exactly 0.0254 m.
Default chosen lengths: cell diameter 20 um, mitochondrial length 2 um,
atomic reference extent 0.1 nm. Thus 20,000nm /2,000nm /0.1nm.
The atomic reference is characteristic extent, not a hard-edged universal atom.
Ratios compare one linear dimension: 10,200000,20000 respectively for
cell/mitochondrion, cell/atomic reference, mitochondrion/atomic reference.
They are dimensionless ratios, not counts or volume occupancy.
Inches = length_in_meters /0.0254. Case A cell is about 0.000787402 inches.

For chosen field F, z=log10(F in meters), model field=10^z meters.
Drawn width w=360*object_length/model_field in diagram units.
If w<1: small / hidden. If w>720: large / hidden. Otherwise it is drawn.
These thresholds are display rules, not microscope resolving power.
A drawn shape may be cropped vertically in the rectangular lab panel.
The live slider uses 0.001 steps in log10(m); exact paper/CSV fields are nominal
50um,5um,0.5nm, so live widths can differ slightly after browser step rounding.
Compare rounded display values; the physical length ratios remain invariant.

CASES
A:20um /2um /0.1nm; field50um. Drawing widths144 /14.4 /0.00072.
B:same lengths; field5um. Widths1440 /144 /0.0072.
C:same lengths; field0.5nm. Widths14400000 /1440000 /72.
D:cell40um /mito2um /atomic0.1nm; field50um. Widths288 /14.4 /0.00072.
A draws cell and mitochondrion; B draws mitochondrion; C draws atomic
reference; D draws cell and mitochondrion (cell is cropped vertically).
A to B: field width falls by 10; every drawn width increases by 10; all physical
ratios remain fixed. A/B/C compare the same adopted physical dimensions.
D edits an input: cell/mito becomes 20, cell/atomic becomes 400000;
mito/atomic stays 20000. Editing a dimension differs from zooming a drawing.

LIMITS AND ASSESSMENT
These are chosen dimensions with artistic shapes/colors/folds, not measured
populations or images. Cell and mitochondrial size vary. The atomic extent
has no hard edge, and glow has no measured quantum probability meaning.
No optical/electron resolution, calibrated microscope magnification, molecular
count, packing or specimen model is included. More calculator digits do not
add biological measurement accuracy. Require matched units, dimensionless
ratios, zoom invariance and one meaningful limitation. A length ratio cannot
state the number of atoms or organelles contained in a cell.
No independent scientific review or formal curriculum alignment is claimed.
