TrES-2 / KIC 11446443 — Kepler Q1 DR25 teaching subset The Last Transmission / DarkScienceDocs.com Activity: https://darksciencedocs.com/light-lab/exoplanet-transits/ Source retrieved: 2026-10-24; interface notes updated 2026-10-24 NASA Kepler observations archived at MAST/STScI. Retrieved from the STScI-managed public Kepler mirror listed at: https://registry.opendata.aws/mast-kepler/ Original file URL: https://stpubdata.s3.amazonaws.com/kepler/public/lightcurves/0114/011446443/kplr011446443-2009166043257_llc.fits Original FITS SHA-256: 10bfca91bdd928deda2e638de7a27cdc940b879452408a96b5be6146944639e9 All three FITS HDU checksums verified; the local FITS is unchanged. Original product: kplr011446443-2009166043257_llc.fits KIC 11446443; Kepler Quarter 1; Data Release 25; long cadence. Header date interval: 2009-05-13T00:01:07.136Z through 2009-06-15T11:47:40.562Z. Cadence spacing: 29.42438143 minutes (averaged photometry). TIME is BKJD = BJD_TDB - 2454833, in days. Not a local calendar date. PROCESSING 1639 original rows. Remove 15 nonfinite/missing or nonpositive required values (TIME, PDCSAP_FLUX, PDCSAP_FLUX_ERR), then 214 nonzero SAP_QUALITY rows. Retain 1410 observations. This conservative zero-quality mask is a teaching choice, not the only appropriate scientific mask. PDCSAP already includes mission pipeline corrections. It is not raw data. Normalize flux and its error by the retained median 403696.25 electrons/second. No additional detrending, clipping, smoothing, interpolation, gap filling, or simulated transit injection. CSV time and normalized values are rounded to nine decimal places; original flux/error values are retained as decoded FITS floats. Cadence numbers preserve traceability. Every retained SAP_QUALITY is zero. NAVIGATION AND MEASUREMENTS Group normalized flux <0.996; split after a gap >0.2 days. The group's flux-deficit weighted mean time supplies a rough navigation center. These 14 groups are navigation aids, not a vetted search pipeline. Depth = 1 - median(central flux)/median(baseline flux). Central half-width is fixed at 0.5 hours in the simplified release259 interface. Baseline samples: absolute time difference 2.5 to 5.5 hours either side. Require >=2 central and >=6 baseline samples. No formal fit uncertainties. Approximate radius ratio = sqrt(positive fractional depth), assuming a complete undiluted transit and uniform stellar brightness. This is not a professional fit for TrES-2, whose geometry/limb darkening/cadence matter. Period = (time B - time A)/number of orbital intervals. Phase = ((time - origin + period/2) modulo period) - period/2. Origin: 132.6421816 BKJD (opening navigation center). All phase plots use the same retained points, without new observations. Historical comparison: 2.47063 days, O'Donovan et al. (2006), https://arxiv.org/abs/astro-ph/0609335 Not an updated catalog solution. No mass, atmosphere or habitability fit. REUSE AND CREDIT The public Kepler mirror lists mission data as public domain. Acknowledge NASA Kepler and MAST/STScI and preserve these processing notes. The Last Transmission prepared this teaching selection and interface; we did not collect the observations or discover TrES-2 b. This is not an official NASA/STScI product or endorsement. Only one chart is shown at a time. Depth-window half-width is fixed at0.5hour; its center can move. In Stack transits, select two of the14consecutive dips. Interval count is their index difference, not the number of displayed sample rows. A later dip must follow the first. Stack selected dips applies that timing estimate to the SAME adjacent chart. No fitted mid-transit times or formal errors. Show uncertainties draws the supplied errors in amber, enlarged20times for visibility, with an explicit notice and actual normalized ppm range. Only drawn bar lengths change; dot positions, data and calculations do not. The bars show pipeline errors, not all systematic uncertainty. The original256CSV/FITS downloads and SHA256 remain unchanged.
