Print learner pages 1-2; educator answers/sources are pages 3-4. US Letter;
choose Fit for A4. Ages 14+ through introductory college, 30-40 minutes.
Calculator; scientific notation supported through a supplied coefficient.
Paper activity works without a browser. In Scale Lab use Black-hole horizons:
A=10, B=20, then B=4,000,000. Named presets can select Sgr A* or M87*.
No account, submitted answers or student information required.

RUN OFFLINE
Extract the complete folder. Python 3.9+ needs only its standard library:
  python3 verify_analysis.py --data-dir .
Windows:
  py -3 verify_analysis.py --data-dir .
Compare output JSON with worked-result.json. The checker validates four
pinned reference rows and four generated cases, radius/diameter, km/miles/AU,
mass-size ratios, inverse mass and the doubling relation. It makes no network
request and changes no inputs. Repeating a formula is not observational
confirmation. The original model/helper plus package.json allow optional
Node ES-module inspection; Python does not depend on Node.

FILES AND PROVENANCE
reference-inputs.csv: exact SI c, exact nominal solar GM conversion,
exact AU definition and international-mile conversion, with primary URLs.
generated-horizon-cases.csv: four GENERATED Schwarzschild comparisons.
Cases 1/2 are hypothetical masses 10/20; cases 3/4 use rounded nominal-solar
mass comparisons 4 million (Sgr A*) / 6.5 billion (M87*). These are not new
measured masses or observed horizon diameters. They do not fit actual spin.
worked-result.json: independent Python results and input hashes.
verify_analysis.py: Python standard-library checker.
scale-lab-model.js and black-holes-guide-model.js: unchanged original models.
package.json: declares ES modules for optional imports.

RECIPE
Let m be the numerical mass in nominal solar units, mu=1.3271244e20 m^3/s^2,
c=299792458 m/s. The adopted gravitational mass parameter is mu*m.
Schwarzschild areal radius: r_s=2*mu*m/c^2 meters; divide by 1000 for km.
mu already contains G: do NOT multiply by G again. Horizon size D=2*r_s.
One nominal-solar unit gives r_s=2.95325007610025 km;
D=5.90650015220050 km per nominal-solar unit.
Convert km to international miles by dividing by 1.609344.
Convert km to AU by dividing by 149597870.7.
For fixed geometry, size ratio D_B/D_A equals mass ratio m_B/m_A.
Inverse model question: m=D_km/5.90650015220050.
Area extension: A=4*pi*r_s^2; doubling mass doubles radius/diameter and
quadruples horizon area. No ordinary interior-volume interpretation is used.

WORKED CASES
10: radius 29.532500761 km, diameter 59.065001522 km / 36.701290415 miles.
20: radius 59.065001522 km, diameter 118.130003044 km.
Sgr A* comparison: D = 23626000.608802 km / 0.157930059420 AU.
M87* comparison: D = 38392250989.30325 km / 256.636346558 AU.
Ratios: 20/10=2; Sgr A*/10=400000; M87*/Sgr A*=1625.
Inverse from rounded D = 118.130 km gives m = 19.9999995, approximately 20.
Stored digits reproduce arithmetic, not observational precision.

INTERPRETATION AND LIMITS
Isolated nonrotating uncharged Schwarzschild model. Radius is areal or
circumferential: a sphere has area 4*pi*r_s^2. D=2*r_s is the stated size
convention, not a ruler measurement through the interior. Real black holes
may spin. The event horizon is a causal boundary, not a material surface.
Emitting plasma and bent light contribute to the bright ring; an observed
shadow is not identical to the horizon boundary. No ray-traced image,
measured shadow, new mass inference or tidal-survival calculation is made.
The live lab plots log POSITION markers: marker dot sizes do not show
horizon sizes. Equal factors in diameter give equal axis increments.
Exact nominal conversion constants are not exact measured solar properties
and do not remove uncertainty from rounded real-object mass inputs.
No independent scientific review or formal curriculum alignment is claimed.
