THE OBSERVATION

What we can actually establish.

NASA has publicly described Artemis objectives and development work with multiple lunar-lander providers. Specific mission profiles evolve as tests, safety analyses, and schedules change.

THE ILLUSTRATION

What the artwork imagines.

FROM THE SCIENCE STORY

The investigation behind the image.

Recent discussion has explored changes to the traditional transfer sequence, including scenarios in which a large Starship-based vehicle might assist Orion on part of the journey. Other options involve different staging and lander systems. Such concepts are useful for exposing dependencies but must not be presented as approved mission rules.

A proposed architecture is not a committed plan. No simulation of a possible transfer demonstrates that NASA has selected that operation.
