The Universe in an Equation
A visual metaphor for physical laws, with no claim that the universe contains written instructions.

The universe is governed by a small set of mathematical laws and physical parameters whose relationship to complexity remains one of the deepest unanswered questions in fundamental physics. Conceptual illustration by The Last Transmission.
THE OBSERVATION
What we can actually see.
Physicists measure parameters and test mathematical predictions against experiments and astronomical observations. The cosmological constant enters models of expansion; the success of an equation does not itself measure why that parameter has its value.
THE ILLUSTRATION
What the artwork imagines.
Symbols suspended across a cosmic landscape make abstract relationships visible. They are not marks found in space, evidence of a designer, or a map of every possible universe; the visual arrangement is entirely conceptual.
FROM THE ILLUSTRATED ARTICLE
The story that inspired it.
The source article moves from the predictive power of equations to the harder question of why laws and constants allow complex structures, keeping philosophical possibilities distinct from measured results.
